300 companies declare principles of friendliness
Nearly 300 Vilnius companies – hotels, cafes, restaurants, art and souvenir galleries, travel agencies, guides, taxi companies, railway and bus stations and Vilnius International Airport have joined a project called Vilnius '09 Invites. The state-run organisation Vilnius – European Capital of Culture 2009 has asked the companies to declare three principles of friendliness: a welcoming smile, good service and a friendly environment. "We are trying to develop the culture of a welcoming city, where not only the city’s tourists and guests but also the city’s residents will be able to enjoy high-quality service," said Egle Dilkiene, Vilnius '09 Invites’ project manager.
