IATA reporting good news from major airlines
IATA informs about solid progress especially in business-traffic, but Europe cannot live up to the global progress of the first half year.
IATA is seldom very optimistic, but the results from the major airlines are uplifting, if you look on the average numbers, but there are fluctuations.
The best results are from The Far East and Latin America, but USA also presents great progress in turnover and yield, but the transatlantic routes are unable to achieve high prices for the tickets, because the European market pulls in the opposite direction.
The progress has also reached Europe, but very slowly. And while the traffic on business class increases rapidly in other parts of the World, the European business traffic moves slowly forward. Globally the business traffic increased 11.9% in the first half of 2010 and economy traffic increased 6.3%.
